Cleaning Marble Countertops

Although marble is a durable natural stone countertop material, it is softer and more porous than granite and quartz, so cleaning marble countertops requires slightly more care. Clean the surface with warm water, a mild, low-pH cleanser, and a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Acidic cleansers or foods (such as lemons and other citrus) can etch marble and should not be placed directly on the countertop surface.

Marble countertops are heat resistant, but it’s best to avoid placing hot items directly onto the surface. Additionally, cutting directly on a marble surface is not recommended, as it can result in dulling of knives or scratching the surface.
